Perform the mitzvah of Tikkun Olam "improvement of the world" "A few hours on earth = infinity in the world to come"
The Jewish Learning Experience is more than a group of concerned Jewish families reaching out to adults who have not, until now, had the opportunity to study their Jewish heritage. The JLE is education by example. Our success is based on the warmth, kindness and consideration that envelops each study program, Shabbos prayer service and Yom Tov activity. Our success is a result of the efforts of people who care.
Your participation is a source of strength to each of us. It lets us know that as great as the problems of assimilation may be, there are people who share our concerns and are ready to assist us in meeting this vital challenge. And it tells us to ask for your help. Join us. Teach Torah from the heart. Areas where your involvement is desperately needed.
The Shabbos and Yom Tov table are ideal places to demonstrate the beauty and warmth of our rich traditions in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Come and meet people at our weekly Beginners' Minyan or at any of our other programs and offer a personal invitation to share your heritage and your home.
For many of our participants our weekly classes serve to whet their appetite for Torah study. They have asked us to provide them with partners in study. Set aside a time to engage in Jewish thought and learning with people who have a strong desire to increase their Torah knowledge.
MITZVAH OPPORTUNITIES Here are some golden opportunities for members and friends of JLE to perform mitzvot by volunteering a couple of hours a week to help our less fortunate Jewish brothers and sisters:
Please mention that you are from the Jewish Learning Experience. (Thanks to Jack Pinsen for the connections)
Expertise in certain areas needed. such as - Computers - setup email, research medical and other information, etc. Handyperson for house repairs, etc.
May also include phone calls. A few minutes (or longer) can make someone's day.
Please mention that you are from the Jewish Learning Experience. (Thanks to Jack Pinsen for the connections)
Thank you letters, donor acknowledgements, Mazel Tovs, etc.
Due to the vast amount of programs available through the JLE, an individual who is willing to develop and create flyers for programs and special events is needed.
Coordinate holiday events (work with caterer, arrange for appropriate refreshments, etc.) such as Purim, Chanukah, Pesach and Rosh Hashanah.
The dramatic growth of the Jewish Learning Experience highlights the need for our type of organization. A strong dinner committee is needed to develop and organize the fundraising efforts that will allow us to continue to provide and expand our programs.
Thank you to all who have worked many hours to make it happen! Our Success is a result of people who care.
